Nancy Sylvester is a trainer, facilitator, speaker, consultant and educator. She is a Leadership/Team Specialist with the Management Institute at Rock Valley College and trains on leadership, teams, strategic planning, facilitation and communication. She also designs customized training programs for businesses. Nancy has been a trainer since 1992 and trains for companies throughout the U.S. Nancy travels nationwide as a meeting consultant. She has been recognized as a meeting expert in the New York Times, Successful Meetings Magazine and the book Mastering Meetings, written by the 3M Meeting Management Team. She is one of only approximately 35 people in the country to hold the designations of Certified Professional Parliamentarian, Certified Trainer of Parliamentary Procedure and Professional Registered Parliamentarian. Nancy is a Professor Emeritus of Speech at Rock Valley College with a Masters Degree in communications from the University of Michigan. She is the 1999 Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce Athena Award Winner and the 2001 Alta Hulett Award for the Professions recipient presented at the YWCA Leader Luncheon. Nancy is listed in Marquis’ Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in American Women, and Who’s Who in America. Nancy is the author of the book Complete Idiot’s Guide to Robert’s Rules and The Guerrilla’s Guide to Robert’s Rules. She served as Parliamentarian for the National Association of Parliamentarians (2001-3). She is currently serving as the National Parliamentarian for the National Association of Parliamentarians, thus serving as the parliamentarians’ parliamentarian. Nancy has also conducted Board Training to various organizations throughout the U.S. since 1995. EDUCATION
